Beware of Scorpios...They Are Everywhere~!

Go to :43 and listen to what a Scorpio is like. HAHAHA.

I was surrounded by Scorpions last night. Good thing they were drinking. Or maybe not. This Virgo was outnumbered by three Scorpios and one Sagittarius, Teddy Bear's boyfriend, which by the way is a centaur using a bow and arrow. Did you know that? It was the monthly scrapbooking night at my house. Once again, Frog played with her pictures and actually TORE some up and threw them away. Whoa. That takes guts. Casey played with her books and is going to redo Ruthless's book. I like to tease and call her son Cynical and Ruthless. Actually, what am I saying. That's what he calls himself. He has a wicked sense of humor and he only laughs at me a little to my face for which I am deeply grateful. I should call him the Avian Assasin but that's another story. I played with all my pretty paper and did not touch one picture. I figure by the end of the year I might have put one picture on a page. It's a lofty goal but I am trying to be kind to myself this year.

As always, we spent more time talking and laughing than anything else. Teddy Bear and her boyfriend were there. I tried to make them go upstairs to watch TV. They were watching "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," but I think they like to listen to us talk, so they were pretending to watch the show. We can get down and dirty and I think it cracks them up. Teddy Bear came into the kitchen where we were "working" and somehow it came up that she was a Scorpio. It turns out Frog and Casey and Teddy Bear are all Scorpios~! Now, I am sure a lot of this is hooey, but I love the description of Scorpios because it is so right on for all three of them.

Scorpios are passionate and powerful. Check. All three of them are definitely passionate about how they feel whether it is about being happy, mad, sad, glad... On the down side, they are stubborn and obstinate. Check. Don't piss off a Scorpio. They are inquistive about what makes people tick. Check. Frog is going back to school to finish a degree in psychology and Teddy Bear keeps coming back to psychology as a major in college. Casey is an incredibly good judge of people, it is almost uncanny. I am a clueless but fascinated observer of human nature. Hey, that's a good idea for a scrapbook page! My friends and their signs.

So, what sign are you? Yes, that is a pick-up line...

Pictures, Pictures, Pictures

Friday night was my first scrapbooking night of the year. Keep it on your calendar, the third Friday of each month to play with pictures, sort them out, scrapbook, whatever. I had chicken and stuff to make burritos with flour tortillas, olives, cheese, guacamole, salsa. And, of course, booze. Casey brought chocolate. Yummy. Even if you don't scrapbook, if you have a laptop, bring it along and digitally scrapbook. I am looking into buying a scanner that will scan negatives, slides, and pictures so we can get them onto a computer. Can you imagine the fun with that~!?? I have tons of pictures that I would love to send to friends but they are on film, not digital, and my current scanner bites.

Most everybody brought pictures to sort and organize, which is the ultimate in distraction and fun. Casey, her sister, and Lynn have been friends for many, many years, so when they started going though pictures it was hilarious. Lynn had pictures of Casey going to prom with Lynn's brother. OMG. She looks just like her daughter, or I guess her daughter looks just like her. A young Wiley looks like Trevor does now. Actually, in the picture I saw, Wiley is the same age as Trevor is now~! It was kind of spooky. LeAnn had some great pictures of her kids. I loved the picture of Evan crying because mommy was making him touch a character, I think it was a panda bear. In the next picture, the character has her paw in her mouth as if to say, "oh, my." It is so funny when you look at older pictures how you can see the resemblance between pictures of yourself when you were younger and your own children now.

It was the battling Bickersons for a while with Casey and her sister but when they sat down to sort pictures, it was so much fun. Kelly had a glamour shot of herself with BIG HAIR. She is beautiful, but the hair is worthy of Farrah Fawcett, man. The stories they were telling were so funny and they darn well better write them down.

Maybe by summer I will be more organized~!

Are Your Friends Rated PG-13 or R?

My Dick-Mickey Avalon
So I spent Saturday with my sister in the Valley. You know, like, the Valley, totally cool OMG. Her friend had a party hosting Cookie Lee Jewelry, Avon, and a lady selling knitted scarves. I enjoyed the Cosmos that she was serving.

The hostess has an awesome room for scrapbooking--an entire room full of gadgets and paper and other fun stuff. It was a fun group of ladies of all ages. A lady was there with her 28-year-old daughter and they were designing a wedding invitation for the mom who was getting married in Las Vegas. They were designing an invitation that looked like a slot machine. It was pretty cute but I have to admit I have never understood that. People with the theme weddings or running off to get married so that Elvis can officiate. Not that she was having Elvis officiate. Her wedding dress was beautiful and it seemed like it was very special to her but I thought the invitation was kind of cheesy and a little bit, what the fuck, let's get married. Anyway, most of the ladies there were preschool teachers and they were quite concerned about not spoiling the image. So, it was fairly tame conversation for the most part. Of course, then my mom arrives and the conversation went straight to the G rating.

My sister and I went to dinner later on at the Macroni Grill. She said it was nice hanging out with her PG or PG-13 friends. I asked her who her R rated friends were. I guess that was a dumb question.

So my question, are your friends mostly PG or R? I am always surprised by the friends you think are squeaky clean but blow you away by totally getting into a conversation about bondage, anal sex, etc. (Too icky to contemplate for the most part. I mean, it is chute for poop~!) It was actually an NC-17 rating conversation~! It quickly became a very hilarious conversation. But some of my friends would be mortified by the discussion.

Anyway, I am glad to have all types of friends, even the G rated ones.
