Ho! Ho! Ho!

I feel like I got gobbled up by a turkey. I don't have a turkey wattle though.

Thanksgiving was fun. Family, friends, food, chocolate martinis. (Thanks, L~!) Vodka, Godiva chocolate liqueur, and Bailey's Irish Cream. My sister and I "practiced" making them on Wednesday night. Come to think of it, that may explain why turkey day was tiring. D'oh. We got tipsy and did not get to bed until after midnight. Thank goodness my mom was there.

So much going on getting ready for the holidays...and the IRS just sent me a CERTIFIED letter saying it was a letter of deficiency and I owe over $3000. All because a client filled out their 1099 form out wrong....they said they paid me $10,000 more than I said they did and, of course, the IRS wants their share of that. You know, things don't work mostly because of bureaucracy and all the damn hoops you have to jump through to get things done and I'm not talking about the IRS. They have actually been fabulous. No, it is my damn client from almost three years ago driving me to drink and an ulcer.

Things work out for the best and I hope this is one of those times. Hey, don't laugh at my rose colored glasses!

Have you ever seen that show "Hoarders"? Wow. I have been recording it but have had no time to watch it until last Sunday. Holy crud. It is mesmerizing. I have a question though. Most of the people profiled were not in a high socioeconomic bracket but I had read once that hoarders tend to be pretty educated. I wonder if they would just never allow a camera into their home to film. One episode was fascinating because the lady was a hoarder and had a daughter who lived in the home who was a hoarder but the daughter was a schizophrenic...and she made more sense than the mom. Even the drunk husband was more rational than the hoarder. Like I said, I was mesmerized.

Teddy Bear flew to Philadelphia for Thanksgiving (boo hoo) and got to see how the East coast does turkey day. They also ran up the Rocky stairs in Philly. My knees hurt just thinking about it.

.

Well, as you can tell, I am wandering all over the place. Oh, oh, I saw "A Christmas Carol" with Jim Carey. Yikes. Bah humbug. Yucky, yucky. I still have not seen New Moon though. I am going to go blog hopping to see what you all thought of it.

Gotta go make my list and check it twice. Santa doesn't mind typos does he?

I got that crap, I shit you not!

I thought I was being frugal... then I saw a program about hoarders... it cured me, but not my entire house yet. Life got in the way of sorting out the just plain crap and donate to stuff that actually is useful.

I'll bet I dumped a semi load within a month of seeing that program.

Oh I hate the day I get anything from the IRS. It would cause me to drink chocolate martinis. Yum.

Your chocolate martinis and my sangria would go well together. What a party that would be.

I'm a hereditary hoarder (I prefer 'collector'), but my hoarding is limited to the garage and the storage room in the house, I've learned how to purge over the years, and I'm doing fairly well. Marriage has done that for me, for one thing.

We rented our last house to a hoarder. I had to kick her out, she turned the place into a tinder pile and we were afraid, since she decided to heat the house using the fireplace, that she was going to turn the house into a structure fire. There was barely a path to walk through, and she couldn't have been using any of the three bedrooms for sleeping.

Oh my gosh! I watched half of a couple of those episodes...scary AND interesting to boot. I can't help but think that a match would be way more effective than a shovel.
Your drinking makes me thirsty...I've not had a drop since I started training in August. I may not remember too much of Vegas after Sunday.

Ew, Hoarders! I'm too much of a neat freak, I get all sweaty when I watch that show. Now I need a chocolate martini!

I've never even heard of that show, but I do know a few hoarders. We once lived next door to an extreme hoarder. Whe he was finally evicted, the landlady hired my husband and a few other men in the neighborhood to clear his place out...I kid you not, you could not walk through that house...STUFF everywhere...the kitchen counters were not at all visible, only the top of the refrigerator and the upper cabinets, and the only thing visible in the bathroom was the mirror! Seriously!
New Moon? I must say, I was disappointed. Jacob was great, the Volturi were the creepiest, but the rest of the movie just dragged. Just my opinion; I'm afraid my 53 years are showing.

Glad to have you back! Your thanksgiving sounds much more fun than mine was (possibly the alcohol?) and that sucks that because someone ELSE is an idiot the IRS has to come down on you.

Good to know that you took one for the team and saw Jim Carrey's A Christmas Carol so you could warn the rest of us...Yikes!

Have a great Thursday :)

Hoarding is an absolute right. Why do we need so many bedrooms if we can't keep way too much stuff?

I am such a compulsive neat freak I never hoard but my Hubby is a hoarder. I just take care of his junk while he is at work an little at a time so it goes unnoticed. My bad?

Have a terrifically blessed day!!!
